Sehr Langsam

Like in Tarkovsky's movies, this duet opens the spaces between people to observe all that is normally unnoticed between (not just two) people. Revisiting the traditionalism of a woman and a man duet, it reaches beyond the form. It touches on the essence of being together and coexistence while not avoiding the ever- present void of loneliness. Melancholic as it may sound, it is strangely pragmatic and simple in its feel. It is a dance piece, but dance which might be defined as purified existence rather than anything else.

Accompanied by Mahler’s 5th symphony’s Sehr Langsam, masterfully manipulated by Tomer Avraham touches deep while avoiding fall into clichés.
